Recently I had to add Tab Control to tool which I am developing.

First of all I am not dummy in MFC. Had used several years but this is my first experience with Tab Control.

First I found out that CTabCtrl from MFC is not container, it is not actually storing any controls and it is just giving view of tabs and you have to control show/hide each tab manually (looks like MFC doesn't provide any container control, at least I cannot remember any). Ok, who said it will be easy. I have resigned.

I did all stuff according to documentation. Reviewed a lot of samples from Internet. (Viva Google! :) )
First run to test. Looks like everything is fine but as soon as I will click to any control inside the tab my program is freezing. Tried to do everything. Debugged standard libraries. Lost about 3 days. Merde!

Finally found issue. But it was by pure accident. When I created separate dialog to put it to tab then I set "Control" property to TRUE. Tooltip for this property is "Creates dialog that works well as a child of another dialog". Looks like very logical to set it true. But it was my fault. :(. As soon as I switched it to FALSE everything started working pretty well.

Conclusions:
1. MFC is worst framework which I ever met.
2. Never believe to Microsoft tooltips and help. Double check!

Recently I read book about Python programming language (Mark Pilligrim - Dive Into Python) and met very funny Kant phlosophy generator.
Look at the some results of program (due to results quite big I am putting only several paragraphs):

Example 1:
    It must not be supposed that, then, the Categories, by means of metaphysics, should only be used as a canon for our judgements, yet the never-ending regress in the series of empirical conditions excludes the possibility of, as I have elsewhere shown, the transcendental unity of apperception.  Space can never furnish a true and demonstrated science, because, like our knowledge, it may not contradict itself, but it is still possible that it may be in contradictions with synthetic principles.  As will easily be shown in the next section, the noumena, with the sole exception of our experience, are a representation of the objects in space and time; however, the discipline of natural reason depends on, thus, philosophy.  There can be no doubt that, so regarded, our problematic judgements have lying before them, however, the phenomena, but our ideas (and what we have alone been able to show is that this is the case) exclude the possibility of our concepts.  It must not be supposed that, then, the never-ending regress in the series of empirical conditions is what first gives rise to our experience, but the Ideal occupies part of the sphere of time concerning the existence of the noumena in general.  But this need not worry us.
    The reader should be careful to observe that the manifold, for example, depends on the transcendental unity of apperception.  Our concepts, for these reasons, can never, as a whole, furnish a true and demonstrated science, because, like metaphysics, they are a representation of speculative principles, yet our ideas are just as necessary as the objects in space and time.  Since none of the noumena are analytic, there can be no doubt that, on the contrary, space (and to avoid all misapprehension, it is necessary to explain that this is true) excludes the possibility of natural causes, but time, by means of time, can be treated like our understanding.  By means of analytic unity, our a posteriori knowledge, then, is by its very nature contradictory.  Since some of our a priori concepts are inductive, our ideas exclude the possibility of time.

Example 2:
    For these reasons, our concepts, thus, would be falsified, by means of analytic unity.  The Transcendental Deduction would be falsified.  Human reason exists in practical reason.  In which of our cognitive faculties are the objects in space and time and space connected together?  What we have alone been able to show is that natural causes have lying before them, in so far as this expounds the contradictory rules of the Ideal of natural reason, the Categories, by virtue of natural reason.  Since knowledge of the Categories is a posteriori, the discipline of practical reason can be treated like pure logic.  But this is to be dismissed as random groping.
    Since knowledge of the noumena is a priori, it is not at all certain that, insomuch as philosophy relies on the things in themselves, the never-ending regress in the series of empirical conditions, when thus treated as pure logic, can be treated like the paralogisms.  The reader should be careful to observe that, even as this relates to space, the Antinomies, in all theoretical sciences, have lying before them the Antinomies, but our judgements, on the contrary, are the mere results of the power of the Transcendental Deduction, a blind but indispensable function of the soul.  The noumena can not take account of, insomuch as space relies on the Antinomies, the Ideal.  Because of the relation between the manifold and the paralogisms, the practical employment of our a priori concepts, certainly, can be treated like pure reason.  Natural causes occupy part of the sphere of the employment of natural causes concerning the existence of our faculties in general.  The question of this matter's relation to objects is not in any way under discussion.

Another example which generates Husserl philosophy:

    We see in advance that an object (by immersing ourselves in such a striving) is unified synthetically.  We can be sure that multiplicities of cognition can be seen as proof that, in spite of the continual experiencedness of phenomenology, a non-being of transcendental subjectivity is conceivable, by the fundamental nature of transcendental phenomenology; we must not let ourselves be frightened by considerations of an object and multiplicities of philosophy.  We now shift the weight of transcendental evidence of the Objective world (in the broadest Cartesian sense) from the ego to the cogitatum (qua cogitatum).  The fact is that the all-embracing consciousness of internal time, naturally, is a clarification of the striving for noematic descriptions; I have the reflection that the task of clarifying experiences is given continuously as an objective unity in a multi-form and changeable multiplicity of cogitationes, which belong determinately to it.  Transcendental phenomenology (de facto) does not yet produce for us any abiding being by a freely actualizable return to multiplicities of the repeatable act of grounding.
    I now shift the weight of transcendental evidence of noematic descriptions (by this preliminary work, here roughly indicated rather than done explicitly) from the transcendental ego to noetic acts.  The fact is evident, even apodictically evident, that philosophy, when we let our thoughts hasten in this manner, denotes a universal primal phenomenon of the repeatable act of grounding of noematic descriptions.  We can be sure that pure and genuine evidence stands in contrast to the accidental being "for me" of an object.  We can be sure that multiplicities of the task of clarifying multiplicities of the Objective world, when we let our thoughts hasten in this manner, become adjusted to separated modes of consciousness.  It is plain that, by orienting transcendental subjectivity according to accured insights, we have not simply lost the repeatable act of grounding of multiplicities of the whole of conscious life for phenomenology; we retain it by orienting separated modes of consciousness according to accured insights.

Сейчас перечитывая серию "Hitchhikers' guide to the Galaxy" автора Douglas Adams.
В первый раз читал года 3 назад, но видимо тогда не очень обратил внимания на нюансы языка.
И каково было мое удивления, когда я обнаружил слова в английском языке, которые считал исконно русскими.
Например:

Trepidation  - 1) трепет, дрожь; дрожание to be in trepidation from anger and from fear — дрожать от гнева и страха 
                   2) беспокойство, волнение, тревога

Prelude - 1) вступление, начало 2) прелюдия 2. 1) служить вступлением; начинать 2) исполнять прелюдию

Bedlam - бедлам

Забавно все таки наблюдать практически одинаковые слова в разных по корню языках и изучать историю возникновения их.

В свою время эта книга была культовой, и как в Союзе каждый третий цитировал братьев Стругацких, также цитировали эту книгу.

Когда-то несколько лет назад я прочитал рассказ Олега Корабельникова "Надолго, может, навсегда"
и мне очень понравилась фраза:

"Одиночество - это жизнь без зеркал.
Пусть нет никого, кто бы мог помочь тебе, но зато нет и тех, кто
помешает или повредит. Нет никого, кто полюбит тебя, но нет и ненавидящих

Тогда я был один, это не значит, что у меня не было друзей, нет!
Просто в душе было пусто и видимо эта фраза дала мне оправдания для меня самого
моих ошушений.
Прошло время. Сейчас у меня есть семья. Есть прекрасная дочь.
Но прочитав снова, моя душа сколехнулась. Нет, я не хочу сказать, что я не счастлив в семье, нет, нет и еще раз нет!
Просто опять ковыряюсь в себе, пытаюсь понять.

Кламбур какой-то получается. Поток сознания. Fuck!

Наверное мысли мои связаны с тем, что очень тяжело семейному человеку найти ту золотую середину, ту балансировку,
что необходима для того, чтобы быть хорошим семянином, а также хорошим работником.
По своей сути, я человек-работа. Я очень люблю свою работу. Я люблю что-то изучать, позновать, достигать.
Но черт возьми! Для этого требуется катострофически много времени и тогда начинает страдать семья.
Где? Где? Где эта fucking золотая середина? Как людям удается быть одновременно хорошим семьямнином,
и одновременно например быть ученым и открывать новые вещи, писать книги, изобретать, да в конце концов просто быть хорошим работником?
